Distinctive striking velvety dark mahagany red petals with an almost black center are borne on free flowering well branched plants with strong stems. Stunning 6 inch flower heads adorn the plant all summer long. It is good for borders and cut flowers, and more. It is a dependable producer that is still popular today. It was used by the Native Americans and pioneer families for food and fiber. A beautiful addition for the landscape!
Sowing: Direct sow after danger of frost in well drained soil 1/2 inch deep where sunflower is to remain. Sunflowers do not transplant well. Plant in full sun. Keep moist during germination.
