All American Selections Winner in 1938, this fast growing summer squash yields big prolific crops even in small spaces. Plants produce large numbers throughout the growing season of smooth lemon yellow straight with a slight taper, up to 14 inch, fruits with smooth ivory flesh on bushy vines. Delicate, excellent quality, tender, succulent flesh is wonderful to steam, stuff, grill, bake, eat raw, use raw in salads, add to spagetti and other dishes. They are best harvested at 5-6 inches long. Plants are very hardy and vigorous. An excellent selection in the garden!
Sowing: Plant in full sun outdoors in spring after all danger of frost and soil is warm. Sow seeds 1 inch deep in moist well drained soil. Keep seedbed moderately moist during germination.
