Delicious very flavorful glossy dark green leaves that are delicious fresh in salads as well as cooked. Stands well in weather Excellent to sow in the spring and again in late summer for a fall harvest. Slow to bolt. Bloomsdale Long Standing is still an excellent choice.
Sowing: Direct sow 4-6 weeks before last frost, in autumn sow in August, and succession sow every 3 weeks until 2 weeks before first frost, skipping the very hot part of season. Cover seed 1/4-1/2 of an inch firming soil gently, planting in partial shade to full sun.. Keep moist during germination.
