Huge 3 inch brilliant deep scarlet red delicate tissue paper blooms on 3 feet erect hairy stems make a stunning display. A trademark for Veterans Day as they grew in the battlefields of Europe in World War I. A very hardy plant that is easy to grow. It will grow in all regions of North America. It will tolerate drought well. Open pollinated. It makes a beautiful display in the summer.
Sowing: Direct surface sow seeds in late fall or early spring in well drained soil in full sun will tolerate partial shade. Keep soil damp until germination.
