Released in 1898, Thomas Laxton is an old favorite. High yielding and of exceptional quality. 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 dark green pods with 7-10 large delicious dark green peas, are borne in profustion on 3-4 foot vines. Delicious peas are bright green and of exceptional quality. Very good for fresh eating or freezing. Resistant to wilt and powdery mildew. Has been a very good choice for many years and now.
Sowing: First sowing, direct sow in early spring, as soon as soil can be prepared, choose a well drained area. Sow 1/2 to 1 inch deep and 1-1 1/2 inches apart in 3 inch bands. Do not thin. Fall Crop: Sow about 2 months before frost. Keep moist during germination. For best yields and easier picking provide support at planting with some type of fencing with wire or such, or a trellis.
