Sugar Snap Peas.
All American Selections winner in 1984. Excellent extra early snap pea with a short vine. The two foot vines do not need support, but would benefit from a little support. It has crisp sweet and flavorful 2 1/2-3 inch pods. Delicious and sweet sugar snaps, Sugar Ann is great eaten raw, raw in salads, cooked, lightly steamed, and in stir fry. Good for freezing and canning. Bears a heavy crop. Wonderful choice for smaller garden spaces. Very popular variety!
Sowing: First sowing, direct sow in early spring, as soon as soil can be prepared, choose a well drained area. Sow 1/2 to 1 inch deep and 1-1 1/2 inches apart in 3 inch bands. Do not thin. Fall Crop: Sow about 2 months before frost. Keep moist during germination. For best yields and easier picking provide support at planting with some type of fencing with wire or such, or a trellis.

Information: Mulching will help reduce weeds and conserve soil moisture. Harvest when peas enlarge in their pods. Can succession plant every 2-3 weeks for a continous supply of delicious peas all season.
