Plant produces very flavorful 6 inch in diameter pure white crisp heads that weight 3 pounds. This variety self blanches. The wrapper leaves are extra long and curl around the heads protecting the white curds from the sun. A very good quality for the home garden and market. It is well adapted for a shorter season. Is is dependable and easy to grow. Has a delicate texture and sweet nutty flavor. A good choice!
Sowing: Start indoors in a well lighted area in early spring for early crops. Or direct sow outside in April, Sowing seeds 1/4 inch deep in good compost. Keep evenly moist. Transplant seedlings 2-3 weeks before last frost date. Don’t transplant seedlings older than 5-6 weeks old. Can grow a spring and fall crop, planting in June or July for fall harvest.
