Pak Choi is a Chinese white cabbage, also known as bok choi. This Chinese cabbage forms 8-12 inch stalks. Large, nearly round smooth glossy green leaves with pure white stalks, it does not form any compact central head. Crisp and mild tasting it is delicious cooked and raw. A great choice for cooking, oriental cooking, eaten raw. A popular green in Asian cooking. It is very cold hardy and grows over a long time period. It is slow to bolt. It grows best in cool weather, and can be grown as a spring and fall crop. An excellent choice for the garden!
Sowing: Direct sow in the spring as soon as the ground can be worked, sowing 1/4 inch deep in full sun in moist well drained soil. Can be planted through mid August. For fall crop plant in the middle of August.
Germination: 7-10 days Spacing: Space plants 10 inches apart. Space rows 10 inches apart.

Information: Pak Choi is a cool season crop. It can be grown as a spring and fall crop. It is relatively frost tolerant. Transplanted seedlings may bolt to seed, so it is preferable to direct sow seed. Can harvest the whole head or just the outer leaves and the plant will just keep producing.
