Brilliant velvety red flowers with beautiful satin sheen bloom in profusion, and although the blooms last only one day, it produces an abundance of blossoms all summer long. Red flower petals are usually outlined with black. It is native to desert regions but it is very adaptible and can be grown successfully in all regions. Heat and drought tolerant. Ideal for borders. It is also is wonderful in beds, containers, and more. Grows easily from seed. A lovely choice for your garden.
Sowing: Plant seed 1/16 of an inch deep in full sun to light shade in early spring when ground can be worked in well drained soil in full sun to light shade. Water sparingly until weather warms up.
