This wonderful sunflower has a tall stalk with a beautiful massive head that reaches up to 20 inches across. The seeds are tasty raw or roasted. Seeds can be used as a snack or as a nice addition to bread, rolls, or as a salad topping. Beautiful very large flower on a very tall stalk. Very beautiful. Easy to grow and tolerant of most garden soils. A beauty to grow!
Sowing: Direct sow after danger of frost in well drained soil 1 inch deep in full sun. Keep moist during germination. Can be started indoors first. Do not disturb roots upon transplanting.

Information: Also makes a good windbreak if care is taken when planting to plant so they do not shade your garden. To harvest: Harvest seeds when seeds look mature and the petals are all dried and the back of the flower heads have turned yellow. Cut heads from the stalk and hang upside down to dry in a warm dry place. Rub seeds out of head when they come out easily. Allow seeds to continue to cure until the shells are brittle and crack easily between teeth.
