Native to many of the states, it is a showy clump forming grass with blue-green leaves that sometimes have a purple cast that cures to a reddish-brown to tan color, it has 2 rows of small flowers mostly on one side of the stem and the basal like foliage often turns shades of red and purple in the fall. It is a warm season grass that is drought tolerant and easy to grow. Grows well up to an elevation of 7,000 feet.
Sowing: Sow indoors 6-10 weeks before the last frost, or outdoors in the late spring or fall, barely covering the seed about 1/4 of an inch deep in full sun.
