Rhubarb Victoria is one of the easiest varieties to grow from seed. A favorite, plant produces prolific green sheen stalks with a red blush that gradually turns to pink and then to a solid green tip. Top quality long stalks have smooth ribs, that are juicy and sweet with rhubarb’s tart punch. It is never stringy or tough. It abundantly produces. It is extremely vigorous and hardy. It requires minimum care once established. Very versitile in the kitchen and very ornamental in the garden. A wonderful addition to the landscape and garden!
Sowing: Soak seeds for a few hours before planting. Direct sow in spring as soon as soil can be worked. Sow 1/4 of an inch in full sun. Cover seeds with 1/2-1 inch soil. Keep soil moderately moist during germination. Can grow a spring and fall crop.
Rhubarb thrives in a cool location with full sun to partial shade.
