Introduced in the late 1800s, it is one of the most popular herbs. It’s flavor is extra rich. Moss Curled Parsley is easy to grow year around indoors and out. Good as a garden edging or even in a flower garden. It is also good in window boxes and containers. Use the tasty leaves for flavoring many dishes including soups, salads, and dinner dishes, casseroles or as a garnish. It’s flavor compliments almost every dish. Vigorous compact attractive plants. Curled varieties are the most popular in America.
Sowing: Before sowing soak the seeds in water over night to 24 hours. Sow seeds indoors 10-12 weeks before the last spring frost. Transplant to the garden shortly before the last frost date. Or sow outdoors in early spring. Seeds germinate slowly (sometimes several weeks). Plant 1/4 of an inch deep and 1 inch apart. Plant in partial to full sun in well drained soil. Water regularly and fertilize when plants are 4 inches. Can also be grown indoors.

Care information: Harvest once plants are growing vigorously, cut leaves at the stem base. Leaves may be cut all season as needed. To store, dry thouroughly and place in airtight containers. If growing indoors it grows well in a deep pot to accomodate it’s long tap root, and it requires at least 5 hours of sun a day. Next spring remove flower stems as soon as they appear to keep the plants producing leaves.
