Plants produce large 1-2 pound globe shaped bulbs with golden brown to yellowish skin and crisp white flesh with delicious mild flavor. It is an excellent slicing onion. Onions are a wonderful addition to salads, soups, and many recipes. Onions also repel many insect pests around lettuce, cabbage, and carrots. Can use thinnings as green onions. An excellent addition to the garden.
Sowing: Direct sow as soon as soil can be prepared in early spring, 1/4-1/2 inch deep. Or start 8-10 weeks prior to transplanting out. Keep moist during germination.

Information: To grow large onions from seed plant in garden in full sun, fertile soil, where there is no standing water after heavy rain. Keep well weeded with shallow cultivation. Harvest when the onions have begun to develop skins and tops are falling over. Pull the onion and sun cure at least one week.
