Classic Italian broad bean, Roma II is a bush type improved version of the famous Romano. Roma II produces 5" long stringless flat green high quality snap beans. Rich robust gourmet flavor is excellent fresh, frozen, and equally as good canned. Flavor doesnt fade and color holds well in processing.
Bush plants are heavy yielding, produces early and continues late. Upright plants are easy to harvest. Good disease resistance. Very prolific and reliable, Roma II is great for home gardens.
Sowing: Plant in full sun outdoors in spring after all danger of frost and soil is warm. Sow seeds 1-1 1/2 inch deep in moist well drained soil, placing seed on it's side. Keep seed bed moderately moist during germination.If started indoors first, transplant when 2-3 inches in height. Soaking 1-2 hours before planting speeds germination.
